Saliesha Graces the Cover of Seventeen

 

Have you seen Saliesha’s Seventeen Magazine cover yet?

She looks very cute.  But who has the best ever cover for the mag?  You can vote over at FabSugar, they’re running a poll between the likes of CariDee, Jaslene, and Saliesha.  I’ll give you a heads up and say that CariDee is winning, although personally I think Saliesha’s is the best.

Saliesha Wins Cycle 9

I’ve got the entire wrap up here, but in case you haven’t heard, Saliesha won America’s Next Top Model last night.  (As I predicted.)

I’ve heard rumblings around the web that Cycle 9 was one of the boring to watch.  I disagree.  Here’s why.

The final two contestants were both deserving.  For once.  There wasn’t ONE girl that clearly looked like she should win and ONE that made you stratch your head and think, “Why, Tyra.  WHY?”

No, with this Cycle the final two standing were strong women who didn’t resort to the catty bullshit other contestants were known for.  They didn’t spite each other.  They were confident in their own skin enough to respect the other girl, but at the same compete on an entirely new level. 

Saliesha was one of the best natural models I had seen on that show in a long time.  She didn’t seem to need the coaching that other’s did.  And while Jenah took great pictures…

… she also came off arrogant and bitchy with clients.  Remember the Go Sees where the clients said she needed to be more likable?  And that she look unkempt?

So Jenah had personal issues… and you know what?  I can relate to what she said.  I’ve been in the same position of having to “mother” someone when I was a kid.  But you get over it.  You deal with it.

Chantal, on the other hand, almost “had it.”  You know? She took some great shots….

I have to say, I went back and forth between loving Chantal and not.  That whole, “I was born to do this” speech of hers was not cool.  But I loved the way she stood up for herself, loved the way she got in Bianca’s face, and loved how classy she handled things at the end.  When it came down to the runway, I knew Saliesha had it.  Chantal looked uncomfortable at times, that wasn’t even when the stilt guy tripped on her gown.

A side note here… was the fashion show totally FAKE?  Doesn’t it seem like the last couple have been fake?  They used to do a live show, didn’t they? 

Anyways… CONGRATS, Saliesha! 

Now we await Cycle 10!

Who will win ANTM tonite?

It’s a tough one, but I’d have to say my pick is Saliesha.  She’s got a great look (even with that dorky haircut they gave her), she knows how to pose without coaching, and she has a great personality. 

Saliesha is my prediction to win!

Cycle 9… Worst Ever?

I came across an interesting article on BuddyTV about tonite’s ANTM finale.  In it, they talked about why this Cycle is the worst ever. 

Well, I don’t agree…but I do think when you’ve had so many of the Cycles you’re bound to get a little bored with it.  It is formumatic.  And while it’s fun to watch, you can literally put anyone in the model slots and run the same Cycle all over again.  So I get what they’re saying.

Janice Calls Tyra Fat… Then Says She’s Kidding… What Do You Think?

Oh… Janice.  We love Janice Dickinson … but sometimes, she sticks in her foot in her every growing plastic mouth.  For example, this clip from the Today Show where she “jokingly” calls Ms. Tyra fat for this swimsuit picture.

Now she says it’s a joke.  What do you think?

 

Bianca… Down to Earth and Humble?

Bianca Golden tells Reality TV World:

“I think it was my time to go.  I honestly did,” said Golden.  “The girls there, they had really strong portfolios and they were ready.  Mentally, they were more ready than I was.  So, I wish them all the best of luck and I just felt it was my time to go.”

Is this the same Bianca we all saw and loved…. and sometimes didn’t love?

Aw, shucks.

 

ANTM Viewing Party

The CW Source blog has a great video from an ANTM viewing party in New York recently.  Paulina Porizkova is there chatting about her upcoming gig (and looking absolutely FABULOUS, by the way) and Nigel Barker talks about the upcoming Cycle and some of the past models. 

Also in attendance is Cycle 4 winner Naima Mora and Cycle 2 contestant April Wilkner. 

Now, I loved Naima while she was on, I routed for her, but in hearing her interviewed it sounds like she’s kind of just floating around and being giggly and not focused.  For some reason, this irritates me.  She also talks of being in a band… and apparently this has to do with her “friendship” with Russell Simmons.

April Wilkner, at least, sounds very busy.  She’s managed to make her time on ANTM valuable.  Good news.
 

 

Adrianne Curry – From Russia With Love

The hubby and I watched Adrianne Curry and Chris Knight if their “From Russia With Love” deal on WE-TV.  Hiliarious!  Those two always are.  They are complete opposties… but at the same time they’re also perfect for each other.  Chris and Aid visit a Vodka making plant, Stalin’s summer home, and of course, host the Mrs. World competition.  Adrianne gets massively sick but still does her job.  (Something Tyra would be proud of, no?)
